Atomis signed MOU with National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN) and Yachiyo Engineering Co.,Ltd.
Atomis Inc., Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. (YEC) and National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Research and innovation cooperation in the field of nanotechnology and material” on Friday, October 13, 2023.
The MoU signing was held at BRIN headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the presence of Dr. Ratno Nuryadi, Head of Research Organization for Nanotechnology and Material, Daisuke Asari, CEO of Atomis, and Tsutomu Takahashi, President of YEC. Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc, Chairman of BRIN and Kenji Kanasugi, the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia also attended as witness.
Purpose and Background of this MOU
The purpose of this MOU is to promote the technological development of PCP/MOF in Indonesia by the three parties. This will further promote the Smart Gas Network Concept operation business promoted by YEC and Atomis.
The Smart Gas Network Concept is a system in which gas is distributed without pipelines by utilizing CubiTan®, a next-generation high-pressure gas container filled with PCP/MOF developed by Atomis as an adsorbent, and its usage is remotely monitored and managed through IoT devices. The system is designed to optimize delivery and conserve resources. The system can contribute to “optimizing delivery and saving resources” and “improving convenience for users by knowing the remaining capacity.
In addition, Indonesia has large-scale plantations in various locations, and the biogas produced from the residues remains unutilized. By filling and distributing CubiTan® with this biogas, it is expected to promote local production for local consumption of energy, and to convert to bio-based renewable energy, thereby contributing to a decarbonized society.
