Atomis Advisor Prof. Kitagawa Awarded Prestigious French Chemical Society Grand Prize

Prof. Susumu Kitagawa, currently external advisor to Atomis and serving as Director of iCeMS at Kyoto University, received the 2018 French Chemical Society Grand Prize (Grand Prix de la Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie). Currently in its 15th year, this international prize is awarded to outstanding chemical research that greatly contributes to society and the environment. Prof. Kitagawa was awarded the prize in recognition of his role in the discovery of a class of porous functional materials called “porous coordination polymers (PCPs, or MOFs)”, which hold significant promise for use as optical materials, catalysts, and in gas separation technologies.
